A leader is best when people barely know he exists.
When his work is done, his aim fulfilled they will say:
“We did it ourselves.”
I first read Lao Tsu in a class on Asian religions during my senior year at West Point. This quote stuck with me since then. It points to the importance of leader being a teacher not a dictator
A great vision will fail if it is forced on an organization. Plant it in their minds and help them develop it. It will become far greater when many grow it, rather than one or a handful of people.
